Part Time Cook I HK I London SW12

Our client is  seeking a reliable, part-time home cook whose primary responsibility is planning and preparing nutritious, from-scratch meals on a weekly basis for two adults, with light housekeeping duties. This role combines high standards of home care with confident, from-scratch cooking using fresh ingredients.  The Housekeeping role will be part-time and for two adults in a two-bedroom coach house.

Hours & Schedule

  • Part-time: typically, 3hours a day x 4 days a week
  • Cooking days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons. Some flexibility by agreement, but these days are expected to be regular
  • Occasional additional hours by agreement

Cooking & Meal Preparation

  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals for two adults
  • Weekly menu planning meeting with the principals to align on:
    • Lunches and evening meals required for the week
    • Menu choices
  • Packed lunches for Tuesday to Friday; evening meals for Monday to Thursday; batch cooking of 1–2 additional meals for the weekend
  • We may suggest recipes; you should also be comfortable proposing menus and dishes
  • Cook entirely from scratch using fresh, whole ingredients (no ready meals or shortcuts)
  • Prepare meals suitable for refrigeration and freezing, clearly labelled and stored
  • Adapt cooking to household preferences, dietary requirements, or allergies
  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe, and hygienic before, during, and after cooking
  • Create and manage a weekly/biweekly online grocery order for ingredients (subject to our approval before ordering)

Housekeeping (Secondary Responsibility)

  • General cleaning and upkeep of the home, including:
    • Vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and bathroom/kitchen cleaning
    • Laundry: cloth and bed linen washing, ironing, folding, and putting away
    • Bed changing and linen care
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic living environment
  • Light household organisation (cupboards, pantry, fridge as needed)
  • Noticing and flagging household issues (e.g. low supplies, maintenance needs)
