We have an immediate opening for an experienced House Manager / Butler for a large Private 4-storey residence, sitting in 3-acres of manicured gardens in Cairo, Egypt.
The role requires a qualified and skilled candidate who is familiar and naturally focused on Housekeeping & Service delivery, but who also understands the importance of working co-operatively with the heads of all other departments, including: Maintenance, Landscaping, Transport and Administration etc - to ensure the highest level of service and aesthetics are maintained and delivered across the whole property.
The House Manager must be hands-on, a proven communicator, and able to work enthusiastically with a multi-cultural team. They will be: service-focussed to their core, meticulous, discreet, extremely well-presented, professional in their outlook, with an advanced understanding of the rules of household protocol and etiquette, accustomed to working in a formal environment, with an understanding of the ways of foreign lands, with proven longevity & credible work experience gathered in high profile, respected private estates, and/or Ambassadorial, Presidential, Royal Households.
The Housemanager / Butler will be hands-on in their nature, playing an active part in daily service delivery, while ensuring the smooth running of the whole residence which employs approximately 60 members of staff (split roughly 50/50 between the house and gardens/transport).
As housemanager, they will answer directly to The Principals.
SALARY
Negotiable. Circa GBP 80,000/90,000 per annum gross.

Roles and Responsibilities
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Overall management & upkeep of the residence and grounds
- Housekeeping: plan, monitor & supervise the team.
- F&B: overall management of the depts including provisioning, liaising with F&B outlets & stock control.
- Events Management.
- Record keeping/ inventories
- Maintaining household accounts.
- Providing traditional butler duties.
Housekeeping Duties
- Oversight for ensuring highest standards of cleanliness, room preparation, and presentation across the estate, ensuring guest rooms, public space, and communal areas
- Manage and maintain a team of highly motivated and trained staff that continually strives for excellence in service.
- Develop rotas and resource schedules, to ensure housekeeping team is able to deliver outstanding service
- Ensure staff understand cleaning requirements of different surfaces and provide training as required to ensure all areas are properly presented and maintained.
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance standards are met and adhered too. Implement safety standards and develop procedures to ensure compliance where necessary, and ensure general housekeeping procedures and training checklists are in place.
- Identify and report damage, faults, and other related issues to the maintenance department (Facilities Management) to ensure proper upkeep of assets.
- Monitor Housekeeping inventories to ensure adequate stock is maintained
- Control budgets effectively, providing billing summaries on a regular basis and coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure focus is on cost savings versa quality of products.
- Co-ordinate purchase, supply of materials, equipment and services through liaising and negotiating with suppliers, and by ensuring the accurate reconciliation of goods and services against invoices.
- Advanced knowledge of housekeeping processes and care procedures are needed to maintain the multitude of different hard and soft finishes
Butler & Service Duties:
- Very high-end service and F&B experience (No exceptions).
- Oversight for Formal Service delivery & training of service staff.
- Provide a courteous, attentive, and consistent level of service
- Respond promptly and efficiently to any requests or complaints.
- Oversight for Flower arrangements & decorative installations.
- Personal Assistant duties and diary management may be required on occasions
- Valeting and overseeing Wardrobe maintenance, packing, and unpacking
