General Assistant I London, Mayfair

£65,000K+pa

Our client has a 2nd home in Mayfair and is looking for an organised and disciplined, formally styled General Assistant who brings Management and practiced Butler and Valet skills to the role. Candidates will be genuinely hands-on in their approach, will have worked in respected private residential environments, and will be natural communicators able to handle a fast-paced environment with ease — one where schedules and priorities can change with little notice, and where challenges are met with a smile rather than a shrug. This is a varied, multi-disciplined role, and the right candidate will enthusiastically wear a number of hats. You will manage a small housekeeping team and work closely with the Chef, Maintenance Manager and Head of Private Office to ensure the Principal's and their family's lives run smoothly. We're looking for someone who takes genuine pleasure in the work, who pre-empts requests before they're made, and for whom flexibility comes naturally.

Liaise closely with the Chef on menus for the upcoming day and week, ensuring smooth coordination between service and kitchen

Work closely with the Head of Private Office to align household operations with the wider needs of the Principal and family

Maintain the household budget and oversee inventory of household supplies

Take responsibility for the care and inventory of fine art and tableware, ensuring items are handled, stored and maintained to the highest standard

Supervise laundry to ensure luxury and delicate items receive the highest standard of care

A natural communicator who works equally well independently and as part of a team

Hard-working with a flexible, can-do attitude — and someone who genuinely enjoys the work
