We are looking for an experienced housekeeper to work in a busy & happy private household, for a family who are in residence for most of the year.
Working as part of the house-keeping team, it is important that candidates will enjoy working collaboratively with the housekeeping team and other members of staff.
It is essential that applicants have proven experience of working in similar high-spec households and must show they have the necessary knowledge to look after high-quality soft and hard finishes, while delivering exacting standards of service.
Points to Note:
- The role is to work for a private family who are in residence most of the year.
- The family has school-aged and young children.
- The position will be 5 days per week (Mon – Sun). The likely working days will be Friday – Monday with an additional day in the week as extra coverage is needed on the Fridays and the weekends.
- There are 3 shifts, typically: 8am to 4pm / 10am to 6pm / 1pm to 9pm.
- Salary: £50,000 per annum (based on experience).
- Annual leave and bank holidays taken with the client's agreement.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Cleaning the property daily to a very high standard.
- Taking care of specialist items such as silver, antiques and bespoke furniture. Laundry care, ironing and pressing and other domestic tasks.
- Running small errands..
- Serving food and drinks to the family when there are no guests.
- some travel is required as the clients have several properties and at times staff are required to travel with them.
Entry Requirements
- Possess the ability to work under pressure without becoming flustered.
- Have the ability to follow instructions.
- Be flexible to work in the evenings on any given weekend, if and when necessary.
- Display a polite and professional attitude to staff and guests.
- Having an excellent work ethic is essential.
- Have an eye for detail, and a desire to work to the highest standard
- Be proficient in spoken English language
- Experience as a housekeeper working in deluxe private homes or 5-star hotels.
- Be familiar with and enthusiastic about working as part of a team of staff.
