Our high-net-worth client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Estate Manager to ensure the smooth running of their estate located in Berkshire.
Responsible for the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and outlying lands, this role requires a candidate with proven experience in a similar role, and/or transferable experiences gained relevant but alternative work environments.
Working directly with the owners and house manager, and liaising with other departmental members to optimize the smooth operations of buildings and machinery, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and solving problems, contracting with and managing internal and external support as needed, so must be a tech-savvy, hands-on individual with a strong technical and maintenance skills, as well as being up to date and comfortable with the latest technology. Further responsibilities will include managing and overseeing non-routine maintenance and aiding in any periodic needs of the farm and farm team as they arise. You will be a brilliant communicator and team player, able to liaise at all levels and support fellow workers as needed and requested, and recruit and oversee the work of and relations with occasional consultants and vendors related to the position.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Overseeing wider estate property maintenance, grounds, land and general condition and operations, in an environmentally sensitive and efficient manner. Maintaining schedules of works that have been done and are scheduled to be done.
- Undertaking any project management responsibility for the properties on the estate, construction/refurbishment works if and when required.
- Managing building management systems, to be the first point of contact when problems arise and to liaise with relevant contractors for repair and maintenance.
- Communication, act as a liaison between the Principal(s) and other stakeholders and departments, maintaining open lines of communication and providing regular updates. Acting as first point of contact and representative of the estate.
- Chair monthly team meetings between all departments.

- Manage waste disposal.
- Manage and maintain energy systems and fuel supplies for heating and other needs.
- Manage water (borehole) supply systems in an effective, and environmental conscious manner. Regularly check safety of drinking water systems.
- Communicating with and manage any farming and/or tenants.
- Acting as first point of contact for staff and contractors, and as a first point of contact and representative of the estate.
- Oversee and work with any extensions to the estate such as livestock farming
- Pond, perimeter fencing, forestry, wildlife and game management.
- Organising and supervising deliveries, suppliers, and contractors.
- Check and approve all utility and contractor invoices before submission to the owner for settlement, ensuring no duplication or overpayment arises.
- Ensuring energy supply/utility, and maintenance contracts are competitive and suitable for purpose.
- Ensuring all assets and the estate are being managed efficiently.
- Managing the security of the estate, implementing security protocols to safeguard the estate and its occupants. Oversee the installation and maintenance of security systems.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Oversee non-animal outbuildings are kept clean and organised
- Oversee maintenance fabric of all buildings, keeping them in good repair
- Maintain, repair, and store estate and family vehicles, and farm equipment and machinery in good working and clean order for long efficient use.

- Flexible working hours will be required when the family is in residence.

Entry Requirements

- Proven experience as an Estate Manager or similar role, with a minimum of 6 years in property management for an UHNW/VIP/High profile client.
- Background or experience in managing security operations.
- Proven ability to manage staff and oversee busy and large property portfolios.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate a large team.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management principles.
- Mechanically and technically minded with strong problem solving skills. Sound knowledge of the latest technology.
- Knowledge of property maintenance best practices and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
