We are looking for an English speaking House-manager / Butler to work for a lovely family in their large home located centrally in Belgravia, London.
The property is used as a primary residence, with the clients only travelling for holidays and business trips – the housemanager / butler will NOT be required to travel internationally, although will manage the organised packing and unpacking of cases.
Reporting directly to The Principal, who uses this property as a primary residence. The House manager will oversee staff and rosters and manage contractors and service providers, and ensure that the property is perfectly maintained and presented at all times. Butler responsibilities will include overseeing all normal table and drink service duties etc, there may also be the occasional need to run personal errands for The Principal or guests.
The house employs other staff, including housekeepers, cooks and drivers, but it would be an advantage if the housemanager / butler had an interest and some ability in the knowledge of cooking vegetarian dishes.
Candidates will have held similar roles in comparable properties and will show longevity in their previous roles which will be backed up with excellent, checkable references.
NB. The role is live-out, although an ensuite bedroom/bathroom can be provided, to help the new member of staff minimise commutes for any late nights or early starts.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining the household, including overseeing repairs and maintenance, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring that the household runs smoothly
- Coordinating and planning events and special occasions, including lunch and dinners, parties and family gatherings/celebrations
- Managing and supervising other household staff, including housekeepers, cooks, and drivers
- Managing and overseeing household finances, including budgeting and paying bills
- Being comfortable with technology and able to use computers and smart home systems
- Providing excellent service to the family and guests
Accommodation
NB. The role is imagined to live-out, although an ensuite bed/room bathroom can be provided, either on a permanent basis, or to help the butler minimise commutes for late nights or early starts.
Entry Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a butler and/or in a similar role
- Strong guest service skills and the inate ability to interact professionally and kindly with guests and members of the household
- Experience managing and supervising other staff
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent spoken and written English with advanced communication skills
- The ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of household management and maintenance
- A valid driver's license and the ability to drive if necessary (although this will only be for errands and the like).
